Evan Carter
As a comedian Evan Carter spends his time observing the world through his eyes, the eyes of a father, son and friend. His likes, dislikes and especially what confuses him provide an endless source of fascination and material.
For three decades Evan Carter’s versatility, experience and professionalism has served him well. He moves easily from television, with his own half hour special on CBC and The Comedy Network, his appearances on “George Stromboulopoulos Tonight” and the “Zoomer Show” with Denise Donlon and Conrad Black to his many radio appearances on CBC’s “The Debaters”, “Metro Morning”, “Fresh Air”, “Later the Same Day”, and “LOL”.
Evan's favourite venues however are live theatres and he has worked many of them as a featured performer with such stars as Gladys Knight, The Temptations, Fats Domino, The Shirelles, Air Supply, Midnight Oil and the late Marvin Gaye. This past summer Evan performed in front of 44,000 people at the Opening Ceremonies of the Pan Am Games.
Joel Buxton
Joel Buxton is a stand-up comedian and writer who performs regularly in Toronto venues such as Absolute Comedy and The Rivoli. He is a faculty member of the Second City Training Centre where he teaches stand-up comedy and sketch writing. Joel was a two-time finalist in the Toronto Comedy Brawl, and has performed at festivals such as JFL42, Field Trip Music Festival, and NxNE. He is a producer with the popular comedy collective Chuckle Co., which runs weekly shows out of Toronto’s Comedy Bar.
Joel’s television writing credits include This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Inspector Gadget, and CMT’s Hit or Miss. Joel also writes online content for the Second City Network and CBC Punchline. Joel is a member of sketch troupe the Junkyard Dukes, who received the 2015 Producer’s Pick Award at Toronto Sketch Comedy festival and an alumni of the multiple Canadian Comedy Award-winning group The Sketchersons.
